ImagePro
A Figma Plugin

OPEN SOURCE design · UI/UX DESIGN
The story
ImagePro is a Figma plugin designed to enhance the image export process for designers. It offers features like multiple export formats, image compression, search filtering, and scale options to streamline workflow. I am designing from concept to completion.

I will be contributing often to the Open Source Design community focusing on continuous learning and collaboration in design.

I discovered a post by Jackson Kasi (developer) and Aswin J (Designer), on the Open Source Design platform, looking for UX Designers for a Figma plugin idea. Excited by the opportunity to collaborate on an open-source design project, I reached out to him, expressing my interest in contributing.

After discussing the concept, we decided to team up and began working together on ImagePro. I am excited to design a tool that truly benefits the design community.
The project brief
Initially, the developer suggested using the shadcn/ui design system for ImagePro. We had a few discussions and example screen reviews, but I noticed that while shadcn/ui offers flexibility, it didn’t align perfectly with the consistency we needed for a Figma plugin.
I proposed to follow the Figma design system instead, arguing that it would provide familiarity and consistency throughout the plugin's interface.
Design discussions
shadcn/ui was not the right fit because its component sizes were too large for the constraints of a Figma plugin interface.

So we decided to adopt Figma design system to maintain consistency within the platform.
Future Enhancements
Below is my messy Figma canvas where I’m brainstorming and exploring different ways and orders to present the plugin. It’s full of ideas, sketches, and various layouts as I experiment with the best approach to showcase. This canvas reflects my brain cloud and process, where I dive into different possibilities before refining the final design.
We are planning to upgrade the next version with some advanced AI features that will significantly enhance the image manipulation capabilities within Figma. These new features will include background removal, image upscaling, and powerful tools like inpainting and outpainting for image editing. Additionally, users will be able to generate images from text and reimagine existing images, offering creative flexibility directly within the plugin.
